IMG_0821 (4) Enhancing plasticity in older adults via transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS).

Méadhbh is exploring neurorehabilitation protocols to enhance aspects of attention and awareness in ageing. Her PhD focuses on the potential of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), a non-invasive method of brain stimulation, to enhance sustained attention in both healthy older adults and in individuals who have experienced stroke. She is using simultaneous tDCS-EEG (electroencephalography) measurements to assess changes in brain activity occurring with stimulation.
